In this recent post, I highlighted the benefits of using short videos to promote your site in Google.

And you’d have seen my results for targeting “Glen Parker” as a keyword hadn’t produced a p1 video yet.

Here’s what I find fascinating however – I googled “direct marketing copywriter” (another keyword & component of my page title) and discovered the following:

  • the keyword has 8.9 MILLION results in Google
  • this website (www.glenparker.com.au) is listed as #4 (page 1)
  • my two videos BOTH appear on page 1
  • my page outranks some VERY BIG copywriting names, including Bob Bly (a legend in this business & all round nice guy)

Direct Marketing Copywriter keyword results

In other words – I have 3 page 1 results for a very competitive keyword… and I acheived this with just half-a-dozen WordPress posts & 2 videos, in less than 2 months.

But here’s what really boggles my mind – why I got these results with a very competitive keyword (8.9m results) where my results have been less stellar for a keyword with significantly less competition (“Glen Parker” has around 30,000 results).

Who knows? I’m not convinced even Google does!
